siding and taping

It has been awhile since I have updated my blog.We are close to finishing the siding and the taper is also close to being able to sand and clean up. We have been updating the pictures thanks to my daughter.We will prime and paint the ceiling and walls shortly.My trim carpenters are all set to come in and start hanging doors and trimming windows.The hardwood floors will go down next week and also the tile.I will update on Wed.

Insulation completion

They have to finish the vapor barrier and then we can start sheetrocking.I worked on siding today and a couple of weeks that will be done and we will be ready for paint. We are going to finalize the cabinet selection hopefully this weekend.

The heat is on

Propane company came today to finish hookup for the furnace.Will now be ready for the Sheetrock tapers after the insulation inspection and install of sheetrock.

Insulation inspection

We will load the house with drywall on Monday or Tuesday, but first I will have to check with the HVAC contractor to see if they are ready to start the furnace on Monday. I'm getting very close to being able ready to bring my pump jacks (similar to scaffolding) to the job, this way I can continue siding higher up on the house.The storm they had last week kept them from finishing and my inspector is away this whole week for training.

We had some inclement weather today so the insulaters did not come, but they will be there tomorrow to finish.

The crew showed up this morning to insulate. We will get the heat on Monday

Getting the heat on

Appolo Heating will be there this week to install the furnace and hook up the gas so we will have heat for the drywall tapers. I will be there to do some siding and a little preparation for the insulation guys.

kitchen selection

It is getting close to the time to make or delay the choice of cabinets and granite tops for this new model.Picking the right combination that appeals to a large % of buyers is nerve wracking to say the least. The huge cost involved and there is no taking it back!

This is my first post, I'm going to start keeping everyone informed about the Spec house! I am getting ready to put the insulation in the house on Wednesday.
